The Sangkhae River (also spelled Stung Sangkae or Stung Sangké) is one of the main rivers in Battambang Province in north western Cambodia. The Sangker River is approximately long.〔(1997 CIA map ).〕 It flows through 6 districts and 27 communes in Battambang province before draining into the Tonlé Sap lake. The average depth of the river, based on raw data provided by the Battambang's Department of Water Resource (2013) is during the dry season and during the wet season . 〔(The Mighty Samlout Sangker River Trail ).〕 In 2013, members of MJP's conservation wildlife enforcement teams, including MJP CEO Stephan Bognar, conducted one of the first (documented) riverine patrols on the Sangkae River - covering over in two days. Since 2003, MJP has been the leading conservation NGO protecting the upper section of the Sangkae River located in Samlout Protected Area - the last intact tropical forest in Battambang and Pailin provinces.
